I think she is showing through the mirror that besides that she lives in a dying world, her inner world is full of life and beauty, this image is a contrast between the inner and outer world. Thats my 5cents

Concept and execution are both very strong, and I've always felt that photomanips using all original photography show the most dedication and typically come out best because everything is seen through the artist's vision. My own sensibilities say they wish for a square pane of glass, but I see why, practically, that's not feasible.

It is images like these that prove that digital imaging will one day have its place among the oil and canvases of the world's great museums. It's fascinating; I can just stare at it and new ideas come to mind, which for me makes it great art, not just a pretty pic.

Interpretations? The obvious one is that the window is the sought-after fantasy, which the viewer (who is on the quest) is seeking; we must pass through this guardian, see the world through her prism to find beauty.

The other way I interpreted this was somewhat the opposite: that, in seeking after vain and petty notions of beauty the viewer has trained her eye not to see the beauty around her - though we are surrounded by beauty everywhere (in fact it is right in front of us) we instead turn it into a desolate wasteland because our notion of beauty is so skewed.
